CAMCO 717 SC is a custom-blended, highly refined,
dewaxed, chemically inert semi-synthetic lubricant. It contains additives for
oxidation inhibition, corrosion protection, pour point depression, seal conditioning
and defoaming. Widely used for applications where the lubricant is subjected to
harsh chemical environments, such as the demanding conditions found in ammonia
refrigeration applications. Lubricant/coolant for process gas rotary screw and
reciprocating compressors.
CAMCO 717 SC has a unique closed molecular structure
making it extremely thermal and oxidatively stable for up to two years in duration.
It has better lubricity, up to twice that of conventional refrigeration oils for
reciprocating, rotary screw and vane compressors, resulting in:

CAMCO 717 SC will condition seal while operating
in the compressor. This blended ammonia refrigeration oil is designed to stop
leaking seals when "O" rings or other elastomers in the system are leaking
due to hardening of the elastomer. When changing oil in the compressor, drain
and prepare the system by changing oil filters, change coalacer separator elements,
clean crankcase on reciprocating compressors and wipe clean with lint free rags,
add the CAMCO 717 SC and run in regular service.
Usually takes two to three weeks to reduce leaks to an acceptable level, depending
on seal condition. If the leak is due to a cracked or chipped face seal the seal
conditioner will not stop the leak. The conditioner is designed to restore seals,
"O" rings and elastomers.
The CAMCO 717 SC was designed to work specifically
in ammonia compressors and has a new and patented additive to condition the seals
and elastomers while the compressor operates.
The seal conditioner in the oil which restores the "O" rings and
elastomers to their original condition by adding back into the seal those elecments
that are leached out by the constant exposure to heat and oil.
The CAMCO 717 SC is specifically designed to
condition “O” rings and seals such as the shaft boot on a face seal
and will not stop leaks from a cracked or chipped face seal.
